Julia Eccleshare's comment:
When Max is sent to bed without any supper for making mischief, he sets off on an amazing adventure across the sea to the land where he meets the ‘wild things’. The wild things roar their terrible roar and gnash their terrible teeth and roll their terrible eyes and show their terrible claws. Brave Max isn’t scared. He tames the wild things and is made their King just in time to join in their rumpus before he returns to the safety of his own bedroom – and a bowl of steaming hot supper. A classic story of the power of a childhood tantrum.
